The 2008 “Salone Industria Casearia - Biennale delle Tecnologie Lattiero Casearie” (Dairy Products Show - Dairy Processing Technologies Biennal) showed itself to be the national leading event for the spun curd processing sector. This dairy product is typical of the Italian South and the show is the most important meeting for a sector which is one of the pillars of southern Italian economy. Dairy processing is indeed one of the most important contributors to the gross domestic product. Campania is the foremost Italian region for the number of enterprises who work in the dairy processing sector. More than 30% of the national total of such enterprises are to be found in this region, which also holds the record for retail commerce activities. In 2007 foreign sales increased bringing the Campania region to fourth position in the prestigious league table drafted by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan. Regional products increased from 117 million Euros in 2006 to more than 123 million Euros last year, with a 5.7% increase. The retail value of the processing of Campania's buffalo mozzarella in the DOP area alone, amounted to a turnover of 560 million Euros in 2006. The Show hosts many companies that produce technologies and equipment for dairy processing. It has therefore become an unmissable event in terms of professional updates and corporate innovation for a multitude of small dairy companies specializing in the processing of buffalo, cow, and goat milk.

At the 2010 Salone Industria Casearia, the whole range of technologies for dairy processing will be on show due to the many accredited companies, offering a complete overview of the state-of-the-art process lines of the supply chain. Machinery, equipment and products for animal husbandry;
Milking machinery, refrigerators and the transportation of milk;
Machinery, systems and equipment for the receipt, storage and preservation;
Machinery, systems and equipment for processing;
Packing and packaging machinery and systems;
Furnishings and equipment for sales outlets;
Management and auditing software and weighing systems;
Quality systems and certifications and health control of processes;
Research associations and trade consortia;
Trade press; Institutions and bodies.

Over 200 companies are represented at the stands at Salone Industria Casearia, coming from all the regions of Italy, but a significant increase in foreign companies has been noted. Companies from the Salerno area (20%) and Campania (10%) stand out in particular. You will be able to find everything from the installation of stables and milking rooms to furnishing sales outlets on the stands. Practically the whole supply chain is represented at SIC 2010. As tradition has it, the largest space will be given over to the processing and packaging machinery and equipment, as well as all the consumable materials used in the dairy companies. 6,000 m2 of furnished exhibition areas, showcasing the best of the new technologies used in the section, make the dairy technology biennial the leading and most profitable dedicated event in the sector.

Target visitors: S.I.C. is aimed at the operators in the dairy and animal husbandry sector: owners and technicians, operators in the research and development sectors, design and manufacturing, quality control, food distribution operators, owners of specialist sales outlets, trade associations and organisations, trade press. In numbers: The 2008 Salone dell'Industria Casearia saw a 35% increase in the number of visitors, from the 2,120 companies visiting the fair in 2006 to the 2,862 dairy and animal husbandry companies in 2008. Visitors from all over Italy, including 1,280 visitors from Campania. The statistics regarding where the visitors come from in percentage form state that: 11.8% come from northern Italy, 32.1% from central Italy, 64.3% from southern Italy and 2.8% from other countries. Customer satisfaction research highlighted that 75% of the visitors judged the fair to be interesting and rich in content, and were planning a visit to the next fair in 2010. This event is a reference point for all the national and international industrial and hand-crafted realities which operate in the milk –cheese factory sector. The S.I.C. mean like a technological view, is a coordinated showroom able to offers a global vision to allow all the protagonists of the sector to confront with a market in continuous evolution. The S.I.C is a manifestation B2B able to satisfy all the expectation of the operators; therefore: a lot of business, concreteness, innovations and participation of qualify and interested visitors.
